Abstract：In order to study the gas initial diffusion law of coal gas desorption process, gas desorption process was analyzed. The approximate solutions of initial effective diffusion coefficient and the kinetic diffusion parameters were obtained according to the diffusion equation. Some Isothermal adsorption and desorption tests of methane in coal particles had been done under different conditions in the lab. The tests had been done under different temperature and different equilibrium pressure of coal particles with different radius. The results show that the bigger the value of the equilibrium pressure, the bigger the value of the initial effective diffusion coefficient and the diffusion rate of gas. And the initial effective diffusion coefficient and the activation energy increase with the rise of temperature. The initial effective diffusion coefficient increases with the increases of radius of coal particles while the active energy decreases with it.
